Shane Hart, Lead Pastor
Adopted at birth, Shane had to deal early in life with the issues of rejection and anger toward a biological father who abandoned him and a biological mother who gave him away. Raised in church by a loving couple who adopted him, he found the love and acceptance of Christ and encountered that full reality as a teenager.
Shane was called into the ministry at a youth rally at the age of fifteen and has never turned back. After high school, he moved to Arizona to attend Master’s Commission at Phoenix First Assembly of God. From there, Shane continued his ministerial studies through Global University School of the Bible. He served as youth pastor in the Bronx, New York; Alton, Illinois; and Youngstown, Ohio as well as working in inner-city ministry in Louisville, Kentucky.
After 12 years in youth ministry, Shane transitioned into the role of a lead pastor. He served in Steubenville, Ohio before moving to Capital City Church in 2009. He met his wife, Elena at a youth workers’ conference in Kentucky. They married in September of 1995 and have been partners in ministry ever since.
Elena, also adopted, was raised in church as well. She surrendered to the reality of God at 18 and immediately got involved as a worship leader in her church youth ministry. Elena plays keyboard and the bass guitar. She graduated nursing school in 1995. Shane and Elena have two wonderful daughters who are constant reminders of the love and grace of God: Kiersten and Breanna.

Raised in church, Brent has had a long history of great men & women of God investing in his life. He was called into the ministry at age 13 during a youth camp and decided to pursue that calling.
After high school, Brent began pursuing “high esteem” in the business world training as a Computer Aided Design Engineer, with his love for “all things techie,” he quickly moved up the ladder in several companies. He began traveling all around the United States training engineers how to leverage technology to bring about a total shift in the Manufacturing/Design world.
While in the business world, God began reminding him of the ministry calling He had placed on Brent. Both Brent and Starla decided while living in God’s country, (Colorado) that it was time, NO MATTER THE COST, to answer that calling. Since that time, Brent served as the Youth Pastor in Mansfield Ohio, Ashland Ohio, Executive Pastor at Mansfield First Assembly, and Family Life Director at C3 Church.
While still a teenager, he met a stunningly beautiful young lady (who happened to be his Pastor’s daughter), Brent and Starla were married in 1989 and have enjoyed every adventure God has allowed them to be a part of since that day. They have four children: Chase (Seattle, Washington), Alexis (Erie, Pennsylvania), Christian, and Austyn. They also welcomed their first grandson in January 2011.
